Whelp, Otakon 2016 is now officially over! But here are some pictures of my cosplays from the weekend. Unfortunately, it was so hot we didn’t stay in costume very long and with the construction in Inner Harbor we didn’t get great pics 😦 But hopefully when it cools down maybe we can go off for a photo shoot 😀
My Greek goddess Nyx Outfit and my sister and I did humanoid vintage Hamtaro and Bijou 😀
Let me know what you think 😀
What has been your most recent cosplays?
So finally, after countless searching, I found the perfect fabric for my NYX cosplay 😀
It is from Joann’s Spirit Halloween Collection! I stumbled upon the last bit of it at one Jonann’s and then found another 5 yds at another 😀
So excited when that happens!
Here is the semi-finished skirt with a blue chiffon under layer.
I have been having some difficulty creating the top but of course I recieved some inspiration at midnight last night. Because of that, I was able to drape the fabric the exact way I would like it and I am hopefully going to work on the pattern for it tonight 😀
Here is the draped version!
The Left Side has the perfect shape and and the lines I was going for with this top. The straps are just an idea of where they would need to go 😀
Let me know what you think 😀
He he the things I wear to work 😀
I love this shirt! I purchased it about 4 years ago, however I put on a bit of weight and it became a little tight in the chest area, I was super bummed. But then, I saw a buzz feed article on how to update old clothing. You can check out the DIY’s here —> 31 T-Shirt DIY’s
So after going through the list, I loved the idea of adding lace to the sides.
Here is a side shot showing off the added lace 😀
How do you update some of your favorite old tops?
I love that I can wear casual and comfy clothing to work, when you run around all day, jeans and a t-shirt are staples in my work closet! But today, I decided to geek it up and wear my new Cosplay With Me, Just Do IT! t-shirt 😀 I fell in love with this saying because it really is soo true when it comes to my cosplay dreams 😀 I was so excited when Cosplay With Me decided to make this saying into a t-shirt!
Here is a shot of me trying to look uh, cool on set. haha

Uh, the last two months have been super crazy busy. Not just at work, but during the weekends as well. I haven’t had any time to work on my Morgana Cosplay. It’s been a year since I started that project. Since I couldn’t make it to Otakon this year and I was so busy at work, I have it hanging out on the back burner. But I think since things are calming down, I might get back to finishing it up 😀 But anyway, while I haven’t had anytime to physically work on my cosplay, I have had time to concept a couple of ideas for my newest undertaking or undertakings 😀
My top concept is a character twist on my favorite classic lolita fashion 😀 I love classic lolita! About two years ago, I saw a couple character lolita outfits at Otakon, and thought some were gorgeous, while some kinda got lost, and weren’t very “lolita” anymore. I think this is one reason I have always been leery to do a character twist. Lolita is a fashion not a cosplay.
But, one of my sister’s best friends said she always wanted to do an Eeyore Classic Lolita dress. I was very intrigued and had always wanted to create a Pooh Bear Lolita Dress. He is after all my favorite of all time ( I have a quite a bit of Pooh bear items :D).
Anyway, I am currently concepting ideas to create a pooh classic lolita, while staying within the fashion and not going crazy with making it to “charactery” I want it to be subtle, but still understood.
I have some ideas so far. The following silhouettes are my top inspirations:D
Which Style do you think would work for this character lolita?
What character would consider to concept into a lolita dress?
Geeking up the work Wear 😀 Pair over a blazer with some dressy jeans and maybe some heeled boots or heels 😀
When Totoro met Baymax, and other cool anime crossover T-shirts you can buy.
It is very true sometimes, the more wonderful and beautiful the shoe, the more pain your feet may endure. When I wrote the post on Hellish Heels and how to make them more comfortable, I completely forgot about how awful pointy toe shoes can be as well!
For Example, My Oxford Heels
I absolutely love these shoes! I think I bought these leather oxford pumps about 5 years ago. But I regrettably have only worn them twice. Because they are so narrow at the top, it gets very uncomfortable, extremely quickly.
Any-who, I was going through my trunk of cosplay wonder and came across my Lambs Wool Toe Pillows. I purchased these to go with my Pointe shoes for the Dexter’s Laboratory Cosplay my sister and I did. They are very cheap and very comfortable!
Here is a couple shots of them 😀

My shoes with the lambs wool inside
I actually adjust the toe pillow on my foot first and then I slide my foot into the shoe. It is easier because then you can place them exactly where you need them to be. It really adds all around cushioning to the ball of my foot. Especially for those con days of constant walking around, these are a life saver 😀
I purchased mine at Discount Dance Supply for about $5.50.

How do you keep your shoes comfortable for con and everyday wear?
Disclaimer: These products were purchased by me and the opinions expressed here are mine and mine only.
It’s so humid right now, and I have very fine curly hair that frizzes out all over! So in the summer, I tend to rock baseball hats all the time.
A lot of women don’t often wear baseball hats, because they don’t know how to dress them up. They tend to look very casual, like you are running to the store. So to combat that, I tend to dress my hats up with lace, blazers, and a chic boot, flat, or heel and some awesome accessories.
When I wear a tank or a t-shirt, I dress it up with a blazer like the Topshop blazer shown in my set 😀 I also love to color coordinate some pieces. So I matched this vintage Phillies hat from fanatics.com with this adorable Dolce and Gabbana Mini Leather Bag. The bag and blazer adds luxe to the look and makes for a very awesome outfit for casual friday!
Check out my complete look and set below 😀
I love my geek tanks and shirts! So in order to look professional I pair them with a blazer, cardigan. or a cute button up and I love casual ripped denim, they look great with boots and heels! I am also a philly girl, so a vintage team hat is my favorite way to go 😀

While, I am a fashion stylist, sometimes I love things too much, I say to hell with the current trends. But then, when I see some of my favorite things re-emerge with a fresh look on the runways, I get super excited!
So anyway, I really love lady like vintage style and I am so excited that the use of brooches is being seen again 😀 I absolutely love brooches! They are so gorgeous and feminine. I am even more excited because I have a good chunk of my grandmother’s vintage brooch collection!
I am also excited for the re-emergence of the pussy-bow neckline! I have so many Lolita patterns for this!
